The curriculum for Information Technology Engineering is primarily designed to provide students with both the theoretical knowledge and technical skills. The curriculum intends to improve a technological depth of knowledge and skills in analysis, design, implementation, and use of both information technology core skills and specialization skills. 

To become eligible for admission to B.Tech/BE in IT Engineering courses in IITs, NITs and IIITs, candidates should have passed Higher Secondary Board Exam from a recognized board in India with aggregate 50 per cent marks in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. Thereafter, the eligible candidates need to qualify JEE (Main), and subsequently JEE Advanced, for admissions to IITs.
