About Kazakhstan

The Republic of Kazakhstan is the country of Central Asia. It is bounded northwest and north by Russia, east by China, and south by Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, the Aral Sea, and Turkmenistan.

The Caspian Sea bound Kazakhstan to the southwest. Kazakhstan is the largest country in Central Asia and the ninth-largest in the world. Kazakhstan measures about 1,820 miles (2,930 kilometers) east to west and 960 miles north to south. it has physical and cultural geographic characteristics similar to those of the other Central Asian countries

the country. Kazakhstan, formerly a constituent (union) republic of the U.S.S.R., declared
independence on December 16, 1991.

About City Almaty

  • Almaty was formerly the capital of the Kazakh
  • Almaty lies in the northern foothills of the Trans-lli Alatau.
  • The modern city was founded in 1854 when the Russians established military fortification.
  • By 1906 the population had grown to 27,000, two-thirds of whom were Russians and Ukrainians.
