Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS)

BDS Admission takes place through the NEET exam. It has been made compulsory from 2016 onwards for successful admission into MBBS, BDS, and other medical courses. 

Students should have secured at least 50% in their Class XII with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as compulsory subjects. 

The national level exam NEET is the only exam conducted for admission to BDS courses. NEET is a national level exam conducted for admissions to undergraduate medical courses

Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) is an approved and recognized professional course in India. It is a 5-year bachelor’s degree. The course trains students to enter the noble professions of dentistry and surgery.

It is considered as one of the most popular and popular courses in India after MBBS. Currently, there are more than 300 dental colleges in India with about 27,498 seats. Dental Council of India regulates BDS courses so it is very important to register for internship after completing your studies.

After completing the BDS course, students can choose several majors. For example, for community dentistry, emergency medicine and radiology, oral pathology, orthodontics, periodontology, etc.
